Rooted in Nature: Why I’m Supporting Our National Parks in 2025

Nature First, Always

Artist Sarah Binder at Great Smoky Mountains National Park

When I think about where I feel most alive, it’s never in the middle of a city. It’s somewhere quiet, somewhere green, somewhere that smells like earth and sky. While I appreciate the history of Philadelphia and the rich artistic pulse of NYC, my heart belongs to the mountains, the deserts, the winding trails of our National Parks.

That’s where I find peace—and inspiration. Those wide-open spaces are where many of my designs begin, drawn from the textures, colors, and quiet stillness I experience when I’m immersed in the wild.

Why I’m Giving Back This Year

Our National Parks aren’t just beautiful—they’re essential. But they’re under increasing pressure from climate change, political shifts, and development. In some places, funding has been slashed. In others, protections have been rolled back. As someone who draws so much from these landscapes, I can’t ignore what’s happening.

So in 2025, I’ve made a decision that feels deeply aligned with my values:
Sincerely Sarah Jewelry will donate 10% of profits from online jewelry sales—every quarter—to the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA).

What the NPCA Does

The NPCA is one of the most passionate and effective voices working to protect our National Parks and the lands and ecosystems connected to them. They:

  • Advocate for strong conservation policies at the federal level
  • Fight for clean air and water within and around park boundaries
  • Defend against threats from oil and gas drilling near protected lands
  • Support wildlife protection and healthy, connected habitats
  • Elevate Indigenous voices and protect sacred cultural sites
  • Work to expand park access and equity for all communities
  • Monitor and respond to climate change impacts across park ecosystems

Wearing Nature, Protecting Nature

My hope is that every piece of art jewelry I create carries a little of the calm, grounding presence that nature offers. And now, it will carry something more: a purpose. A promise to protect the places that inspire me—and maybe inspire you, too.

Thank you for walking this path with me. Your support means the world—literally.

Meet the Artist

Hi! I'm Sarah, the artist, and I'm so happy you found my website and I hope you're enjoying my designs as much as I love creating them! Every piece is handcrafted in my home studio using the skills I've picked up through my metalsmithing education and from experimenting with new techniques over the last decade. My work is inspired by the world around me. I often escape to the outdoors for clarity and inspiration taking photos of the captivating elements of nature I stumble across.

Beauty is in the details!
