Description
This Ginkgo Leaf Copper Pendant is inspired by one of nature’s most enduring and recognizable forms. Handcrafted to reflect the distinct fan shaped silhouette of a ginkgo leaf, the design balances clean lines with soft curves, giving it a simple, contemporary feel.
Measuring about 1 inch tall, the pendant is lightly shaped to add dimension and movement. Hand stamped lines suggest the natural structure of the ginkgo leaf in an understated way, allowing the warmth and richness of the copper to shine as it naturally develops character over time.
The ginkgo leaf has long been associated with resilience, longevity, and hope. As one of the oldest tree species in the world, ginkgo trees are known for their ability to endure through centuries of change, making the leaf a symbol of quiet strength, renewal, and perseverance.
This symbol also holds personal meaning for me. I studied metalsmithing at Cedar Crest College, where a ginkgo tree graced the campus and was featured in the college emblem. That tree was a constant presence during my time there and remains a reminder of growth, learning, and the foundation of my creative journey.
Finished with a simple bail, the pendant hangs from an 18 inch copper chain with a lobster clasp closure. It is an easy, everyday piece that works beautifully on its own or layered with other necklaces for a more personal, collected look.
The back of the pendant is stamped with my maker’s mark, SB, a small signature that reflects the care and craftsmanship behind each handmade piece. If you prefer a different chain length, feel free to reach out to me prior to ordering and I’ll be happy to help customize it for you.
