I use the forms and colors of metal to build sculptural jewelry. My work portrays nature in competition with our growing demand for modern technology and conveniences. Tapering tendrils, twisting vines, flowing leaves, and bursts of color and texture all interact in my work. An array of man-made materials incorporated into my jewelry reflects the industrial world that surrounds us.
My jewelry captures the world as I interpret it: elegant, colorful, and full of surprises. Overlapping the natural forms of vines and leaves with industrial, geometric elements give an illusion of nature fighting the material world.
Art has surrounded me my entire life. I was born and raised in Palmerton, PA and currently reside in Freeland, PA. In a small town I was surrounded by nature as well as industry. I am fascinating by nature and how it survives and overpowers our advanced society. I worked in the bridal industry for three years and currently work for a whitewater rafting company in the Poconos. These positions have opened my eyes to different areas of design, but both come back to the fundamentals of color, pattern, texture, and composition that are prevalent in art.
I graduated from Cedar Crest College in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Art with a concentration in studio art focused on jewelry and metalsmithing, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration concentrating in management and marketing. I also earned my Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration on entrepreneurship at Ashford University.
In the future I hope to utilize the skills and knowledge that I have gained through course work and interactions with others in order to provide my loyal customers with unique, quality jewelry.
